Knaphill Village Show – Young Gardeners Wanted

Knaphill youngsters are getting ready for the Village Show on Saturday 17th July.

Part of this fun, family event is a ‘Horticultural, Vegetable and Flower Show’. There are the usual categories for adult gardeners, but the children also have their own special competitions:

  • Making an animal or object of vegetables and/or fruit
  • Growing the Biggest Sunflower
  • Making a Miniature Tray Garden
  • Making an Eco Sculpture from re-cycled materials

The Show Committee visited Knaphill School to tell the pupils about the Show, and to see the wonderful Eco-garden the pupils have created.

The Horticultural Show is not just for children; keen gardeners of all ages can take part. There are copies of Show Schedule (with an Entry Form inside) at Knaphill Library, The Vyne Community Centre and The Garibaldi (High Street, Knaphill). You can also down load the Schedule from this link:  Flower and Vegetable Show

The Knaphill Village Show is on Saturday 17th July, from 2 – 5 pm, at Mizens Railway, Barrs Lane, Knaphill, GU21 2JW. There is the  Horticultural Show and all sorts of activities and fun things to do for all the family, and of course the marvellous Mizens Railway too; it promises to be an exciting event for Knaphill.
