Knaphill residents have an opportunity to have their say on the future development of the area. Woking Borough Council (WBC) is preparing a new planning policy framework that will guide the development of houses, offices and shops from now until 2027. The way the local area develops will affect all our lives and WBC’s Planning Team are keen to hear your views……But you need to respond urgently…..the deadline for making representations is 5pm on Friday 7th January 2011.
KRA were concerned that many people have not had time to get involved in the consultations. After our requests the Planning team have put copies of the booklet “Woking 2027 – Planning the future of our Borough” in Knaphill Library and The Vyne for residents to take away and read and reference copies of the “Woking Local Development Framework – Draft Core Strategy” are also available. The WBC website links have been improved and you can view all the documents online on www.woking.gov.uk/woking2027 or www.woking2027.info
There is a great deal of information and many issues of concern, but key areas of interest in the Core Strategy for Knaphill residents are likely to be:
Section 5.0 Planning for places
CS4 Local and Neighbourhood Centres
Section 6.0 Borough wide policies
CS9, CS10 & CS11 Housing
Please make the effort to find out more and to make representations so that local views are heard.
There is a “Representation Form” you can use to make your comments. This is available from WBC offices or via their website.
