Think you can walk the talk? Every Sunday morning we are holding a walking football session for people aged over 50 who still have an undying passion for playing the beautiful game.
We are looking for new players to dust off those old cobwebs and roll back the years playing an enjoyable adaptation to the game we all love.
It is an exhilarating way to keep yourself fit and healthy. The benefits of playing Walking Football are immense; it increases aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health, it also lowers body fat and improves muscular tone, whilst also building strength, flexibility and endurance. Walking Football will also provide a way to socialise with friends and meet new people.
After watching the session today it was evident that the passion, competitiveness and skill had not faded from the teams. They battled hard but fair, playing a light hearted but competitive game of 5 a side. It was superb to see beams on the faces of the players, as well as their determination and grit to win the match.
For people who are under 50 and interested in playing the sport, we do also make exceptions for those who are incapable to play the fast paced regular game due to injury or illness.
