Local SSAFA Co-ordinator Bernard Allen was very pleased with the success of the first Knaphill Big Brew Up which was held on Thursday morning at The Vyne. In the region of fifty guests popped in for a cuppa and a chat during the morning and their generous support raised £ 135.00 for SSAFA’s valuable work in the local community.
Special thanks were made to Gill Waine (Centre Manager), the Vyne Team, Volunteers and Vyne Members and guests, and to The Friends of the Vyne who kindly donated many of the Raffle Prizes. And to the KRA for helping to publicise the event and get Knaphill people involved.
Everyone was pleased to have representatives from 25 Training Regiment Rlc, from Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut attending the event. Privates Frew, Handley & Jones & Corp. Pickup chatted to guests and answered questions from some of the Vyne’s ‘old soldiers’ about modern day service in HM Forces.
It was a very enjoyable and successful morning and thanks go out from SSAFA and the KRA for the generous support of local people.
