A new ‘pop up’ shop has just opened on Anchor Hill, Knaphill, and is already creating quite a buzz among the local shoppers.
Long term Knaphill resident, Richard Burt, is selling off his unique and personal collection of antiques, china, glassware, furniture and collectables.
But ‘Knaphill Interiors’, on Anchor Hill will only be trading for a few months, so you’ll need to take a look soon rather than later!
“After over 35 years here in Knaphill, I’ve decided to put my property on the market and retire to Dorset”, said Richard, a former Florist in village. “I ran ‘Forget-Me-Not Flowers’ here for many years before leasing out my shop premises. Now the recent tenants have relocated, I’ve decided the time is right to make the move.”
With his sharp eye for visual design in flowers, Richard has a developed a passion for collecting fine pieces of interior design over the years. “I admit I’ve been a bit of a hoarder,” he said. “I’ve always been one to spot the potential in something, but I’ve run out of storage space here and I know there just won’t be the room in my new home.”
With the now vacant retail unit at the front of his property, he decided it would be a great idea to sell off some of his collection at very affordable prices for those who appreciate the finer details. “I’d heard the term ‘pop up restaurant’ and thought the idea of a ‘pop-up shop’ would be a good way for me to get into the sorting and clearing mood. I have far too many beautiful items and would love for others to be able to cherish them as much as I have!”
Richard’s freehold 3 bedroom property including the Anchor Hill 250sq ft retail unit is being marketed for sale by Seymours in Knaphill. “This really is a unique opportunity. Mr Burt’s home is stylishly presented,” said Seymours Partner, Simon Stone. “The lock-up shop at the front is self contained and can either be let out generating an extra income or used for a new or existing business by the purchaser.”
“I’ll be sad to be leaving friends behind”, said Richard, “but I know that others will be able to take pleasure in the things I’m leaving behind by selling them off in the shop.”
Knaphill Interiors (next to the Barbers on Anchor Hill) is open 10am-5pm Wednesday to Saturday and at other times by arrangement. Call Richard on 01483 488763 for further details or visit the website at http://knaphillinteriors.co.uk.
